Posted by Car Guy  Published in ML 450, Mercedes

Mercedes Benz has unvieled their first two mode hybrid SUV called the “ML 450 Hybrid” at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Mercedes plans production in 2009 and is calling this vehicle “the world’s most economical SUV petrol hybrid in it’s class”. The ML 450 is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine coupled with two electric motors for a combined output of 321 hp. Power for the electric motors is supplied by a 288V battery and can be charged using regenerative braking or the gasoline engine.

Mercedes GL 320 CDI

Posted by Car Guy  Published in GL 320, Mercedes

What will amaze you is how quietly the 3.0-liter Common rail Direct Injection (CDI) V6 engine operates and carries the 5,236 pound body of the GL 320 CDI. There are no tell tale signs of sulphur exhaust from the diesel due in part to the oxidizing catalytic converter close to the engine as well as the particulate filter.
