Steve Meyers is developing a car engine that can reduce our dependence on foreign oil. His invention would allow you to run your car engine on water, the most renewable form on energy on earth. Steve is the twin brother of Stan Meyers, a controversial inventor who died mysteriously in 1998. Several years back, Stan Meyers had also claimed to have invented a dune buggy that could cross the US on just 22 gallons of water alone. Using the process of electrolysis, Stan claimed that his “water fuel cell” was able to seperate hydrogen and oxygen and use the energy produced to power his dune buggy engine. Stan had no engineering or chemistry background, infact, he was a high school dropout. His claims were viewed by many with suspicion, mostly by scientists who saw his claims as a violation of the law of conservation and other scientific laws.
However, conspiracy theorists believe Stan was murdered to keep his invention from becoming a main stream idea and thereby killing the profits of large oil companies. Stan was at a restaurant with his brother Steve and two Belgian investors to celebrate the success of his water powered buggy. He took a sip of cranberry juice and suddenly clutched his throat, ran outside and vomitted before collapsing and dying. According to his brother, his last words were: “They poisoned me.” Now, Steve Meyers wants to continue his brothers pursuit of water power as a source of energy.
