Don’t you just lovethe total ignorance of this
braindead , lying film? GM puts the EV-1 out there for 6 years, contacts 5,000 customers to
encourage them to lease this crappy EV, manages to only lease, at most, only 2/3rds of the small fleet in the most populous states in the union,
which is fewer than 800 cars, and when the fraudulently titled “zero emission law” is repealed, Crhis Paine claims that was what killed the EV-1. Of course, lying Chris fails to mention that Honda felt no need to continue their EV program, launched side-by-side with the EV-1 - they killed their program after a mere 6 months. Paine apparently feels that this doesn’t constitiute killing. Nor was Toyota killing their EV program. Paine, as is pretty obvious, made a deal with Toyota and rewrote the history of the modern electric car. Paine is a sleazy piecve of pure crap. heshould be forced to drive one of his “wonder cars” the EV-1, recently namesd by a panel of automotive experts as one of the worst cars of all time. It cost 4 times more than a much
better Honda Civic, required $20,000 plus every 5 years for a new battery pack, which might have a driving radius as short as 30 miels after 4 years of use, and required 8 hours to recharge (no family emergencies, please).
