Nissan shows off the Mixim EV

Nissan recently unvieled its new EV (electric vehicle) concept car called “Mixim” in preparation for the 2007 Motor Show in Frankfurt, Germany. Nissan targets this vehicle towards the young computer savvy generation of drivers. The vehicle is powered by two “Super Motor” electric motor and Lithium Ion battery combo units, one powering the front axle and the other the rear. Nissan claims that this design gives it the all-wheel drive with an extended range. The driver sits in the center with two seats on either side, while the various controls of the car are modelled after computer game controls.

The doors are front-flipping bat wing design while the windshield is a wrap-around design inspired by the visor of a motorcycle helmet. The car weighs under 2100 lbs and is about 12 feet long.

Nissan has not announced any plans of making this a production car as yet.
