2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid review

2007 Toyota Camry hybrid, the powerful redesigned version of a 4-door sedan, tops the safety rating for front and side crash protection on the driver as well as the passenger sides, with a 5-star rating. The Camry hybrid comes equipped with standard curtain bag for rows 1 and 2 for head protection, standard torso bag from the seat for row 1 and even a knee bag.

The Camry hybrid has a 2.4L, 4-cylinder engine and the hybrid system net horse power rated at 192 HP. The Camry weighs over 3,600 Lbs and is rated to provide mileage of 40mpg in the city and 38mpg on the highway, which amounts to about 700 miles on one tank. The car interior is spacious and comfortable, though the trunk loses about 5 cubic feet of space due to the battery.

The 2007 Camry hybrid is well appointed and comes with a keyless entry system. The car starts with just the press of a button as long as the key is in proximity. The car comes standard with a bevy of technologies, with only the navigation and leather as optional. The optional navigation screen is touchscreen and responds to voice commands. With the navigation system, the premium audio system is limited to 2 CD changer, whereas without the navigation system, the Camry comes with 4 CD JBL audio system and changer. Though there is no iPod connectivity available standard with the Camry hybrid, the premium JBL audio system comes with an auxillary jack and Bluetooth technology. Other features include a tire-pressure monitor system, halogen headlamps with automatic on/off, cruise control, an 8-way-adjustable power driver’s seat, a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, 16-inch aluminum wheels and heated outside rear-view mirrors.

The Camry has a unique feature called the “Plasma Cluster” which continually purifies the air in the cabin based on an ionizer technology. The Camry happens to be the only car currenty on the market equipped with this technology.
