There are only five days left before the tax credit for the Toyota Prius disappears forever due to the phase out provision set by Congress on hybrid cars. The Prius has remained a solid favorite among hybrid car buyers and continues to be the number one in sales among hybrids. It’s so popular that of all the hybrids sold in the US, 50% are Prius and there are no signs of slowing down. One of the reasons cited for it’s continued success is it’s unique looks.

Unlike other hybrids, the Prius looks like a futuristic car. The fact that the vehicle has a high green score and provides a gas mileage of over 48 mpg does not hurt either.
Toyota has not changed the design of the Prius since it was first introduced. Now there is talk that a new completely redesigned Prius may be introduced in the 2009 model year. Given the success Toyota has had with the original Prius, it is natural to assume that the next generation of Prius will be a surefire hit!
